Hello and welcome to my photostream.

I was born in the county of Kent in England during December 1957.I attended a local Grammar School and left from the 6th form with 9 0-levels, chosing not to take my educator's advice and stay on for A-levels and a stint at University.

The career path I had intended with British Rail as an engineering technician was stillborn due to a reversal of recruitment policy at the last moment, and I was thrown into a career "no mans land" and it was too late to go back for the A-level studies!
A brief period was spent "on the road" in a Commer "Walk-Thru" van as a sales assistant for a prominent sausage and cooked meats manufacturer, before a chance spotting of an ad in "Commercial Motor" magazine led to me finding a position in the industry I loved...road transport! At the tender age of 17 I started as a traineee van salesman for a dealership based in Essex. The rest is too long a story to tell here !

Since 1997 I have resided in either Staffordshire or Cheshire where the two meet just North of Stoke- on- Trent. At the end of August 2011 I left the UK to head via a 4 week roadtrip across the USA for a period life in the Southern Hemisphere where I hope to gain some relief from my increasing distaste for the country of my birth (sad but true!)

I am now the middle of my 5th decade and until recently lived in a once proud country which was formerly known as GREAT Britain. I struggle with my frustration with the decline of this once great nation and my complete inability to do anything about it. I am left bemused by the prominence of Political Correctness and the over-zealous implementation of Heath and Safety rulings and regulations, both of which which conspire to eliminate any remaining common sense from much of the populus.

My overseas travel adventures have been both a partial cure and contributor to this frustration.

I have had a variety of jobs within the transportation industry. Namely.... Commercial Vehicle retailing, Road Haulage, Road Passenger travel and the Railfreight industry .

As you will see, and hopefuuly enjoy, I have recorded many images as I have passed through my life and careers.
