Photography is a journey into the light. I find it a challenge to capture natural life, vibrant and dynamic, in a still medium, and help it to come alive in the viewer’s eye as a photographic image.

My photography has evolved since I explored the untamed wilderness of Alaska on a family trip to Prudhoe Bay and saw my prints on display. Trips to the southwest developed my interest in exploring the designs and patterns in nature. Trips to Antarctica and the Arctic gave me a profound understanding of the balance of nature, the harsh environments in the Polar Regions, and their importance to our planet.

As I explored business opportunities in photography, I was fortunate to be mentored by Darrell Gulin, who gave me a firm grounding in conceptual photography. As a retired actuary, this has allowed me to relate financial concepts to a financially conceptual image.

I have done some field mentoring of students in the Mountaineers Basic Photography Outdoor program, sharing my experiences with others. I was quoted in a Seattle PI article: www.seattlepi.nwsource.com/getaways/293928_phototrip30.html

My prints have been on display in a variety of public venues. I have been published in Nanpa's Expressions Magazine, and I currently have stock photography at Alamy and Veer Marketplace as well as my images at Flickr.
