I've been interested in photography since my early teens. My first camera was a cheapo 110 camera and I was incessantly pestering my friends and family to allow me to shoot them (with the camera!). In school, I was the kid running around with my point and shoot camera on the last days of the year taking pictures of anyone that would stand still long enough for me to click the shutter (yeah, I was that kid).

My first real camera was a mid '80's Canon AE-1 Program that I bought off e-Bay about 2000 or so (has e-Bay been around that long?) that I still have and use on occasion, but have recently upgraded to a Nikon D80 that has 10 times more features than I'll ever use, but I love to shoot with it anyway.

My interest morphed into landscape photography when I moved to California's Central Coast region (San Luis Obispo) in 2002 and found the local geology and topography simply stunning. I was lucky enough to be a short 3-hour drive from Yosemite National Park, and made trips to Yosemite at least once a month during the year that I lived in San Luis, once for a two-day hike to the top of Half Dome.

Moving to Orange County changed the pace of my life - instead of a leisurely 20-minute ocean and mountain-viewing commute to work over "The Grade" on Hwy 101 into San Luis, it was a 40-minute slog with road-raging felons down I-91 and Knott Blvd into Cypress. The upside was that Yosemite was still a manageable 7-hour trip and Las Vegas was now only 3 hours away (What happens in Vegas...).

Moving back to Michigan in 2004, getting married, buying a house, working a 60-hour-per-week job and starting my own small photography business has left me with less than ample opportunity for my road-trip landscape photography as of late. However, I've found that I also enjoy wedding and event photography, particularly anything to do with motorsports. And I've even started dabbling in some "artsy" macro photography. I've just recently put up a MySpace page (it's still a work in progress), to try to reach a larger audience for the business. It's been a slow start since there are only a few hours each week that I can devote to managing the page, but it's coming along!

Hope you enjoy the images I've posted here.
