Art consumes everything I think about, everything I see, my periphery. The entirety of the environment I have ever inhabited is all art. Everything I learn, all knowledge I acquire, seems to be in the pursuit of becoming a better artist. I suppose this is somewhat derived from my inability to be consitently studious. Art is jazz. It's sporadic, or at least for me it is. The medium changes with moods, moons, urges to be misanthropic, hateful, critical, or caring, humorous, or just mysteriously cool and emotionless.

Photography, I've found, is wont to emerge when I fall in love with a bit of the city, or when e'er else I've remembered to carry along my camera. And, of course, as with all other arts I participate in, when I feel that someone is better at it than I perhaps have, as of yet, demonstrated, and I feel the need to right this inanity.

I find that medium supplements medium. Photography augments music, augments poetry, augments prose, augments design. I also notice that principals from other fields—history, biology, etc—can enhance meaning, understanding, aethetic appreciation through common knowledge. I, of course, haven't learnt to apply this yet, but one wishes that through constant practice, this ability might become...might BECOME.

If you've read this far, please, stop. Now is the time to look.
