I was born, like most people. I grew up in the shadow of NASA. It was the 80s, and while everyone else was doing coke and voting for Reagan, I was exploring the woods of Palm Bay, Florida. I graduated from Farragut High School in Knoxville, Tennessee in 2000, where I earned a well-deserved reputation as a devout geek.

It took the next five years at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama to reform me and teach me real social skills that didn't involved discussing bits and bytes. In many ways, I am still learning to "live down" and have a good time. So I guess I would classify myself as a reformed geek, even though I still probably work too much.

I come up with crazy ideas to make money and to take over the world (not necessarily in that order), so ask me what the idea is today and I just might humor you. I come up with so many ideas that I need pills just to be able to shut my head up and sleep!

I like all kinds of music, but I'm especially partial to early '90s pop, late '90s alternative rock, country, and jam. I am a distant relative of John Colter.

My political views are an odd mix though I generally tend to favor libertarian viewpoints. However, I'm making a concerted effort to actually give less of a shit about politics. I found that, for awhile, I was getting far too caught up in things that I could not change and, ultimately, had little or no direct bearing on my life.

I have mild hearing loss in both of my ears. While I don't need hearing aids right now, I sometimes have a difficult time hearing especially in crowded or noisy environments. Please don't be upset if I ask you to repeat something or to speak louder. The best things you can do to help me: 1) speak somewhat slowly and enunciate clearly, and 2) look directly at me so I can see your lips.

I have a seething hatred for mornings. The day should begin at noon.
