My first camera, when I was about 6, was one with those disks of mini-negatives. Took pictures of farm animals with it. Haven't given up the weird cameras -- currently taking photos with a foldable Polaroid Alpha 1 that's older than that disk camera I had years ago. Manipulating SX-70 Polaroids makes me happier and more fulfilled than anything else in the world. Losing the film is like losing a very dear friend. I went to Europe in the summer of 2007 in a large part just to have one more shot at doing Polaroid manipulations in Paris. I traveled alone, stayed in Montmartre, and wandered the city making art for days - it was one of the happiest times of my life.

Currently a counseling psychology grad student at CIIS in San Francisco, which has halted all my progress in getting gallery shows and professional exposure for the moment, but hopefully not for long. Great thing about being a therapist is I get to make my own hours, so I plan on spending as many as possible making art.
