I'm relatively new to Flickr. I thought it was a great service for others, but I had no use for it personally since I don't take that many pictures myself. I never considered it as a source for talented photographers since my impression was that it was all amateurs posting their vacation pics or other personal creative attempts.

Until now.

I've gotten involved with making a personal video vision statement and was pointed to Flickr to find the photos for the slide show. And I've been blown away by the talent and wonderful images that are published here. I commend you!

As a marketing consultant, I’ve started to develop brand movies for clients and see Flickr as a resource for some very rich and beautiful photos that convey more than the typical commercial shot. Since brands are about emotions, good photos are critical to help convey those emotions.

If you find that I've favorited your photo, it is either because it is in the Creative Commons-license category and available for non-commercial use and am using the Favorites tag as a way to make sure I can find the photos again so if I do use the image in my own personal vision statement... I can attribute the great photographer to the image and let you know.

OR.... I may be marking them as Favorites because I like the work that you do and want to find them and enjoy them again. And who knows... I may hire you for a project in the future. I do that sometimes.

I put some of my own photos up for the heck of it... but let's face it, I'm no photographer. Those who can't do hire those who can.

Keep up the great work. And I'll keep looking and appreciating them.
