Melissa Mercier is a photographer based in Vancouver, Canada.
Her work has become a favorite of fine hotels including Four Points, Sheraton and Four Seasons.
Often contrasting organic and inatimate subjects, she challenges us to find beauty in the ordinary.
Originally from Quebec, her career started with a move to Toronto, Ontario.
She then studied photography at Vancouver's Langara College and worked closely under renowned commercial photographer Anthony Redpath for three years.
Her work embodies a unique sense of imagery. Blue sky flattens into a canvas where steel is painted in bold strokes. A row of greenhouses shifts into a line of soldiers. A construction site transforms into a ballet studio.
