So my journey with photography started early, when I entered a photograph I took of the US Capitol building in the Shenandoah County Fair--I got third place! For a second grader who was using a 110 camera (remember those?!) I was pretty pleased.

It wasn't until college that photography became a passion of mine. I started working for the college newspaper and really loved it! My academic training was in preservation and I worked hard at architectural documentation with photography. I eventually became the photography editor for the newspaper and took a paid job working in the PR office for the university.

Now I'm a local government professional whose interest in photography is on the periphery of my day-to-day job and chores.

I think I'm handling the basics of camera work pretty well, but I'd like to expand my off-camera flash work and really take on product and food photography. (PS I love to cook and eat, too!)
