Hi, I'm David from Sheffield, England and have been dabbling with cameras since about 1987, when I bought my first camera - an Olympus Trip point and shoot.

After a gear cull in December 2010 I have reduced my inventory down a bit, so I am mostly an exclusive film shooter again. That is, except when I take snaps with a digital compact.

I'd like to concentrate on medium format film for a while without the distraction of digital slr gear. The thought of the larger negative size is very attractive.

I like to play around with classic/vintage film cameras and get a buzz when I put a transparency on a light table and say to myself "I shot that".

Collecting a few vintage cameras works with my sub-hobby as a 1940s vintage re-enactor, though I think of myself as a photographer first and re-enactor second. But is fun to combine the two. I have found that today's cameras and lenses are just 'too good', so it makes sense to shoot film through a working antique to mess things up a bit. Mind you, most of the oldies I've got gives the new stuff a run for its money!

Many films have been and gone since I took up photography, yet I will remain an avid film user for as long as I can. I refuse to go totally digital.

NOTE FOR AGENCIES LOOKING TO POACH MY WORK FOR FREE:
Except where explicitly stated, EVERY image in my gallery is mine and I hold the copyright. You MAY NOT steal my work. I live in the real world where film costs real money to buy, develop and print, so if you see something you like the look of and wish to use it, you must first consider what financial offer you are prepared to make.

Don't like that? Expecting a freebie? Take a hike, most sincerely.
