I do photography to inform and, when it happens, to please and delight the senses. A good picture that tells a story is what I focus my lenses on. If the conditions render a good negative I used it as is, if not, I Photoshop it to make the story clear.
I stick mostly to my subjects planning, architecture, urban landscape. I am keenly interested in the lives of people and their societies and how they shape their neighbourhoods, districts and cities. I search for instances of neighbourhoods that are safe, sociable, tranquil and delightful. I also look for places where people gather to enjoy a leisurely, quiet but animated time with others; places of detente and delight.

Licensing
I believe in the free flow of information; Wiki-everything. So, I use the Creative Commons license option which requires only to inform others where you found something interesting so that they in turn can become informed and find their own picks.

About me
Born in Greece, lived in many places in Canada and settled in Ottawa. Architect by training but also developer and builder and, ultimately, researcher and planner. My mother tongue and English I speak and write and I can use French a bit.

I write a column on community planning issues for the Canadian Home Builer magazine and editorial pieces for www.planetizen.com e-zine. I am an occasional visiting lecturer at McGill University. A few articles have appeared in academic and professional journals.
I created Urban Pattern Associates to study, promote and impement the Fused Grid, a model for laying out neighbourhoods and districts. Two such neighbourhoods are under construction one in Calgary, Alberta and the other in Stratford, Ontario

Intensely interested to know everything and reasonably pragmatic to understand that some ambitions will simply last.
