College student who's had point-and-shoot Canons for a while but never thought seriously about photography. The gorgeous, gorgeous pics on Flickr, as well as the sense of community here, have really inspired me. Now armed with a Nikon D40x, I'd like to take the next step and punch out some quality photos. Just gotta figure out what the heck aperture, metering, exposure, and all that stuff is... oh, how to turn this darn thing on! =)
