So you want a story....

From when I was in Middle School I had the interest for Photography. As an elective, I always selected Photography as one of them. Unfortunately, I was never selected and maybe it was because of my "local boy" look. Most of the teachers said I should have been doing football. Well HELLO its my life and I was very interested in arts, ceramics, and photography.

Finally in my senior year I was given a chance, but by that time I had lost interest in it and didn't put my heart into it.

In the early 90's I got that bug again and every party I went to I borrowed someone's camera and just took pictures. You all remember that 110 days.... I was one of the nephews that wasn't running around playing at the party's but the one who was taking pictures of the drunk Aunties and Uncles. Which wasn't a good idea as I found out later.

When I heard of Digital I wanted one of those, but never could afford it. I then decided to save up my money and got a HP from Wal*Mart. I thought this was the bomb. Take pictures and instantly see it. Then delete the ones you didn't like. Good deal! After experiencing more I wanted more. I then saved up again and purchased my Sony F 707... Wohooo I was in heaven with this baby. Big lens barrel, bigger MP, and looks real. I got a few filters and an external flash. I was the bomb at the parties man. It was such a rush for me.

Ahhhhh,let me tell you about Mr. Jeff Davidson. He and his Ohana came on a trip to Oahu for the very first time. I knew this guy was a photographer and I enjoyed his racing car images and how he made a car going 200 MHP looks like it was frozen. We went out for a photo shoot touring Oahu I had my F 707 and he showed me his weapon of choice. Nikon! This was a cool looking and super fast camera, but I knew the price was way out of my range so I didn't even think of it.

On their next trip it was to the Big Island and he did the worst thing that someone could do. He put that darn Nikon monster in my hands and said "Take some pictures". This was HOT! I was just clicking away and having a great time with it. I was bit by the bug.... BIG TIME!!

As of now my weapon of choice is a Nikon D200. Way cool and what a great DSLR. I am looking forward in getting an external flash and maybe a third lens in the near future.
