I have a deep and abiding love of the Lake District in Cumbria (this probably shows in my photo stream). I like to walk, read, cycle and listen to music (but not all at the same time).

After several years' hiatus, I have rekindled my interest in photography by buying a digital camera (the Panasonic Lumix FZ8, in September 2007). My principal interest has been landscape photography, mainly by virtue of carrying a compact with me when out walking. Since obtaining the FZ8, I have pursued this, but have also taken more of an interest in other aspects of photography, including wildlife, sunsets and other sun effects, and creative photography. Just over a year ago (early September 2008), I got my first ND filter and polarising filter.

I had a lot of fun with that, and hope to have more fun still.

A little while back (spring 2009), I joined the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, and have been enjoying photographing the wildlife at their site at Washington.

Christmas 2009 update: I now have a Raynox 2.2x telephoto adapter. Looking forward to having lots of fun with this!

Update for March 09: Now also have Raynox wide-angle converter, Raynox macro converter and an ND8 filter.

I am a biochemist working in the field of biopharmaceuticals.

    Canon-Girl says:

"It gives me pleasure to be the very first one to write a testimonial about Nigel's photography. A most talented photographer who captures the real beauty of nature. It is a particular pleasure to have a look at his Lake District Set, where so many beautiful images of that place can be found and explored.

Keep up the good work, as I am looking forward to seeing many more fantastic images!"
