Hey Yall, My name is Greg W.Jones I am a Graduate of Susan Moore High School I am a member of the Class of 1996.I was a member of the Bulldog Marching Band.I curently work for a large retail store in a nearby town,I have been with this company for 12 years.When I am off I do Photography and have won several awards for my work. I am curently working on a project called Blount 24/7 for a local newspaper When not doing Photography or at work I can be found on a cruise,in the Smoky Mountains,Savannah Georgia or Laying on a Beach somewere in the Caribbean.About 2001 I started takeing photography Classes from David Haynes of Blount Springs,Mr Haynes has and always will be my Idol,Mentor, and I am proud to call him a friend.On Aug 13,2005 I had the oppratunity to Meet Earl Hamner at the Real Waltons Mountain Virginia,Mr Hamner was in his hometown of Schuyler to release his Biography,on a previous trip to Schuyler I had met a very Close Friend of the Hamner Family she told me that when Earl would be home she would let me know and she did and we still keep in touch to this day.I had a Birthday card with me that was signed by local residents of Blount County and I have it to him personaly the card is now in is office in Los Angles California his exact words to me we i persented the card to him was "you have to speek up I am hard of Hearing" . About 2000 I started doing photography I have always like doing photography even when I was in school had they offered it I would had been on it in a Heart Beat.I started takeing 1-on-1 Classes from David Haynes of Blount Springs and it was about this time I entered in several Contest,The Alabama Farmers Federation,Picture.Com, and the Blount County Chamber of Commerce.I have enterd the Blount County Fair but have not been sucessful at winning as of this writing.In 2001 I started a triditon of Takeing one of my pictures and Haveing it printed on a Calender,I did those Calenders for 3 years and stoped for 3 years now I am doing Christmas Cards this years feactures a Shot I did on a recent trip to Savannah Georgia.another tridition I strted along with the Clanders and Card is that they must and always be printed localy they are printed in Oneonta.
On Feb 3 2008 I started what will become the largest project that i have done this project will be a work of art because the objects I will be photographing are works of art,as time progresses I will be able to tell about this project but at this time i can only tell little about this.On May 9 2008 I have started posting photos from the project I started on Feb 3 2008,This project is of old/hisoric Bridges in Alabama is I will continue this project their will be a pic posted in my pics here on my space if you know of a bridge that i do not have posted and know it sill still in extance(it does not have to be open to traffic please send me a message at this site.onece the project is complete i will make an anouncement on what i did with pic I WOULD LOVE TO DO A EXIBIT ON THEM SOMEWERE.In August of 2008 I will become a committee member for the Blount County Relay for life.In October 2008 the Blount Banner Newspaper(THE HOME OF MY BLOUNT 24/7) HAS ME LISTED AS A CORSPONEDNT FOR THE PAPER)I AM NOT A EMPLOYEE OR ASSOCIATE OF THE BANNER I AM MY ON BOSS<a .
