Communicating a sense of place is my main goal. This is probably a result of early experiences trying to convey the sense of wonder I felt while exploring the natural world, especially that of the mountain environment.I prefer a straightforward, documentary approach to photographic communication, letting the light and subject speak for themselves. At the same time, when photographing landscapes, I prefer compositions with depth and detail, rather than oversimplified graphic designs, feeling that a little complexity more often mirrors the vastness and sublime.My equipment ranges from a DSLR to 35mm, 645 medium format and 4 x 5 large format.
