El nombre KANKALAS representa una manera de pagar tributo a nuestros aborígenes americanos quienes fueron brutalmente borrados del mapa por no adaptarse al proceso evangelizador traído e impuesto por los colonizadores europeos.
KANKALAS significa según el diccionario maya hombre que se relaciona con otro hombre, para aquel entonces llevaban una vida normal además de ocupar posiciones de liderazgo y respeto. Se podría decir que a partir de ese entonces comenzo un proceso de división de los habitantes de este territorio paradisíaco en dos bandos, los buenos y los pecadores.
