Born in the hills of las trampas; my passion for nature and photography is beginning to spread outside my little box as I can further support myself. I bought a digital camera one year ago (end of 2006) and found California...soon I'll be able to buy a professional camera and there will be "no more excuses." As of (Spring 2008) I am the proud new owner of a Canon 5D and all I had to do was sell my car :) In addition to photography I am a meteorologist/ atmospheric scientist and study the weather across the entire globe but am more in tune with the microclimates surrounding the Bay Area. I watch amazing things happen everyday at work, by satellite of course, impatiently waiting for the moment when I get the chance to photograph those perfect conditions....and speaking of perfect conditions my ultimate goal is to forecast, intercept, and photograph a California tornado. I've been out there (San Joaquin Valley) when it sets up for severe weather and its like a little tornado alley.
I rarely travel outside the greater Bay Area although I am drawn to the desert and how can you resist the Sierras, so most of my subject material consists of natural elements within central California. I rarely travel outside these boundaries mainly from an overwhelming guilt from the ponzi scheme weve been allowing to occur. One thing I will not miss out on is the Solar Eclipse of 2020 during the summer solstice that peaks as it crosses the Himalayan range....the fact that it peaks over the Himalayan range is pretty amazing but its occuring during the summer solstice and somewhat close to the equator so the shadow cast is really thin.
mentors of photography: Eric Nguyen and Bob Walker.
A lot of photographers are really into "magic light"(big warning sign for ego over knowledge), I am more or less interested in the medium that the light is filtering through and the processes which create it (Mainly just in the troposphere)....IMO atmosphere dictates not only location but composition as well
whats up with that name?

mankind is not an island...If theres one thing I've learned about life from the weather its that nature thrives on correcting imbalances.....and for photography the best view is on that edge of that gradient
you can't have a planet and eat it too :P
