When I first joined Flickr I had a Canon 400D. Sadly I managed to have an accident with it earlier this year, or at least I was sad at the time, but in the long run things worked out well as I replaced it with a Canon 40D. I got the 400D repaired so you might still see the occasional shot with that body.

I photograph mainly birds, plants and insects but squeeze in shots of my animals along the way.

Thank you to all those who take the time to view my pictures, post comments, etc. I get great pleasure in viewing the images that others take, and whenever I have a spare moment I am on here browsing them looking for inspiration. I always try to view the photostreams of people who post comments and invites, my apologies if I ever don't manage it, but sometimes I just become overwhelmed with the number of comments and invites. I also don't have the time to post to all the invited groups at times due to work load.

For anyone interested in learning more about photographing wildlife I would highly recommend they buy Moose Peterson's "Guide to Wildlife Photography": a great book that is easy to understand.

I am back to blogging and will be posting images on my blog that won't appear on flickr, so if you enjoy my images you might like to take a look at my blog as well: myworldinphotosandwords.blogspot.com

"These pictures are superb. They are so clear in detail. Each picture looks like any moment it could spring to life, and the expression on the birds' or the dog's or the ferret's or the cat's face says it all.

These are the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen - although I am a biassed in that my very first hobby was birdwatching, and often I used to go up on the mountains with my binoculars, pen and paper and spend all day there. These pictures certainly brought back some wonderful memories. It's like stepping in to another world.

Thank you so much, and I can't wait to see many many more."
