Abstract Photographer: It's not that I think outside of the box . . . there is no box!

My lifelong passion in Photography has been lighting. I prefer to take my pictures in natural lighting. My favorite time of day to photograph is at dusk or just beyond. I make the most of the scene during the "Golden Hour" of lighting.

There is something special about still photography; light to the camera can be an accumulative thing, as long as there is some existence of light, you can capture the image.

Since 2007, HDR (High Dynamic Range) has been my passion. I got my start in Photography as an avid hobbyist in 1970. Since the beginning, I have had a passion for long-exposure photography. I was involved in the darkroom aspects of photography in the early days, and in 2003 I migrated to Digital Photography.

That, combined with the magic of HDR, is even better! I do not "Photoshop" my photos. Instead, my emphasis is on the composure (i.e. mechanics) of the shot; I put my best efforts up front, and then only use HDR processing, if anything, thereafter. I do not alter the content of my photographs!

95% of my photographs are accomplished using fully-manual camera settings, just like in the “Old Days”. I do as much of the work In-Camera as I can.
