I'm a 50-something person - starting to think about all that stuff I'm going to do when I retire : Up to a a few years ago I'd buried my head in the sand about digital photography and convinced myself that I'd just lost interest. However I got into the habit of taking pictures with my phone as I went along : A photo-diary if you like.

I've always liked this site and the way it works. I wanted at first to show the way I think phone-cameras are brilliant for taking those opportunities where we just wish we had a camera with us:.....when I started on here every picture picture in my folder was taken with a motorola KRZR phone with a 2MP camera with a lens the size of a red lentil. Awful fiddly phone but a fair camera.

Hope you're as surprised as I was...... I've now changed phones to a Nokia N96 and the picture quality is much better than with other phones I've owned - I've added some pix from a compact camera - the one which is usually lying around. I'm not ready to change my user-name just yet though as phonepix still account for some of it.......when I have time I'll put a 'P' in the title of all the pictures taken on phones to show which are which.....

More recently I'm trying to adapt to a more up to date digital SLR (why so complicated? - digital version of Pentax K1000 please!) but the picture-quality amazes me. We'll see how it goes. I'd like to improve my photography and hope this forum will help that. I'm currently trying to separate out the phone-pictures from the others into sets so the headings make a bit more sense. I'd sooner be taking pictures however.....

By the way - don't take too much notice of the dates on the older pictures - I'm really slack about setting the date in the camera...

Anyway - enjoy these - by the way I'm not a pro - I got the pro account as part of my broadband deal.....
