I have been into photography since high-school, over 30-years ago, but digital has really set me free over the last few years. Prior to Feb-2008 I mostly shot a Canon 10D, but now it is a Canon 1DmkIII. In May of 2011 I picked up a Fujifilm X100 as an always-with-me compact, and I love it. I shoot almost exclusively in RAW and process with Lightroom-V3, PS-CS5 and Noise Ninja V2. In 2010 I also started using NIK software products including Silver Efex, Color Efex and Viveza. The more I use those NIK products, the more I like them.

I live in a semi-rural area of SE Pennsylvania.

My icon is a photo of my own great-great-great-grandfather (b. 1787) taken by my great-grandfather, who was a professional photographer in upstate NY in the 1870's. I have a large collection of 19th century photos that I have inherited and there are scans of many of them posted here in the "Old and Vintage" collection.
