As a graphic designer with way too much "photoshopping" going on in my life already, I tend to deliberately not edit my pictures too much, besides tonal corrections and a little cropping and aligning. Usually I'm just too lazy to dodge and burn, filter, retouch and process them to death, and I do regard photography more as my 'documentary' medium, which I use to conserve the things I see, without meticulously arranging, composing and retouching every shot.
An exception to this is my current obsession with HDR and tone-mapping.
I wonder how long this will last, but for now I'll often run around with a tripod, producing overly saturated shots with strange tonal effects.
