On a friendlier note:
Photography was a passion of mine many years ago when I used to sell some of my framed photos at markets. That was before the advent of digital and I loved my 35mm camera.

Somewhere along the line I got busy, and whilst I kept up with the technology and updated my camera regularly, I really only used it for snapshots and family memories.

Well, I've found my passion again! As you will see from my photostream, I love to photograph animals. Most of my photos have been taken at the Royal Melbourne Zoo, Werribee Open Range Zoo and the Healesville Sanctuary. I have recently become a member of the Friends of the Zoo for these three zoos, and I have set a goal to visit all the zoos in Australia over the next three years.

On a recent trip to Sydney to visit Taronga Zoo, I upgraded to my first digital SLR. I'm now shooting with a Nikon d40 which I absolutely adore and cannot speak highly enough of.

So jump in and have some fun with my photo stream. Comments are most welcome but if you prefer just to visit for a while, that's fine too!

"Donna is a great photographer that I discovered a few months ago and was happy about it. I especially appreciate her animal photography, which is outstanding. It's always a pleasure to watch her work, because it represents the animals (and people) under a different but beautiful light. Congrats!"

"Donna is my flickr friend from Australia. I met Donna on flickr some time back and am privileged to call her my friend. We share a love for big cats and she has my favorite series of tiger shots on flickr (all her animal shots are outstanding but am partial towards her tiger shots =) ). Her shots are almost like being there and seeing them live... She has a wonderful eye for details, framing and ofcourse timing. It is as if the animal world poses for her! I feel as if I have seen Satu and Isha (the twins in her series of tiger shots) grow up before my eyes...

She is very kind with her comments and feedback. A wonderful person and an amazing photographer. It is a delight to travel through her stream. I look forward to seeing her shots pop-up in my contacts stream, makes me grin every time :) ...

Check out her stream if you have not yet done so, one of the best animal photographers on Flickr I know.

D you are simply amazing! You rock!!

    Take care and Good luck!!

"I have been delighted to accidentally meet Donna at Healesville Sanctuary some months ago and have been a very keen observer of Donna's photos ever since.
Donna has a real love of animals big and small, and an excellent eye for detail and the technical aspects of photography, including proper framing, composing, focus - all the things that help make a photo from good to brilliant.
Donna has a particular penchant for big cats, tigers are a specialty!

I am delighted to call Donna a flickr friend, and I whole-heartedly commend her photostream to all.

"I've decided that today I must sit down and write some testimonials. Donna has a passion for 'zootography' and as she's on the other side of the world to me, I wake each day to her latest beautiful offerings. She never tires of capturing her magnificent animals - particularly her wonderful tigers - in new and imaginative ways. Her photos are a firm fav in this household. A true flickr friend, Donna is constructive and kind in her comments, quick to take on suggestions and requests and generous throughout. Good luck with your new group and your target of visiting all of Australia's zoos."
