a photographer. haha!

i like travelling: my travelogue

i'm currently in the process of writing 2005 up (er!), since it's nearly over - china gets the treatment first!

i currently work as CTO for Podio

gear by canon:

EOS 5D Mark II
EOS 20D
IXUS 870IS

EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II
EF 70-200mm f/4L USM
EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
EF 100mm f/2.8 macro USM
Speedlite 580EX
ST-E2 Speedlite Transmitter
EF extender 1.4x
EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM (this is really shitty wide open, actually, post-servicing it's not anymore)
EF 135mm f/2L USM
EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
EF 35mm f/2
EF 135mm f/2.8 w/Softfocus (!)

If I could only have one lens - probably the 135mm. What a joyous creation. The 85mm is on the shopping list though, when I feel like throwing 1250 quid at it. I'm also quite partial to the 1D MKIII, although I am going to exert self-control for once in my life and pay off my student loan first! Also, apparently the autofocus is dodgy. Can't be as bad as the 20D though...

A short list of my former digital cameras, and the reasons for their demise:

9) Canon IXUS 800 IS - stolen from my coat in "Woodys" nightclub, Notting Hill. A right shithole that place. I paid 7 quid for the priviledge.

8) Canon IXUS 750 - sold to a Mr. A N Hunter for a bargin £120 quid

7) Canon IXUS 40 - (recently left in valencia airport)

6) SONY DSC-U40 (sold due to appalling image quality - never trust your friends to review cameras!)

5) SONY DSC-V1 (someone started a fight with me at a party and tipped beer on it - the demon drink was only indirectly to blame here)

4) Canon Digital IXUS v2 (dropped by a friend the night before I left to live in France for a year - couldn't afford another! drink was involved in this incident too).

3) Kodak DC4800 Zoom (stolen on a night train from Rome to Venice after drinking far too much)

2) Kodak DC210 Zoom (lent from my dad then stolen when i was burgled in hulme hall, manchester uni)

1) Kodak DC3400 Zoom (stolen at a formal dinner to celebrate the end of the year at imperial college)

Which makes the EOS 20D the longest surviving camera I've ever owned! Hurrah!
