In high school I took photography twice a day, both electives. I would go before school and help my photography teacher set up the darkroom. I would spend any extra time in the darkroom. Photography is being offered less and less in high school, as is all art forms. I strongly support art in schools knowing it was what literally kept me going each and every day. Self Expression + Art = Self Esteem for developing minds. Out of high school I worked with local photographer Deborah Goldstien Photo/Design covering events for some publications, such as The Wine Press, etc and as a darkroom tech and I freelanced. I had my babies young and "traded my camera bag for a diaper bag". Now, some 18 years later my artistic side has reemerged. I have learned and relearned a lot. I still love the darkroom. I am not computer savvy. I don't have photoshop which is fine for now. I use picnik for editing. I thought I was a purist but have read discussions and realize I am not. I just like to enhance my images, manipulate and correct without taking away the raw realism I love about photography. I choose to take a more journalistic approach-although I appreciate all interpretations. Who knows though, I may do a complete 180 someday. In fact that would be a wonderful development. I love black and white and I love the darkroom. I love this outlet to inspire me to learn more and take the time to reconnect with creativity. I appreciate comments and critiquing. In fact, it makes my day ; )

btw, the dates as to when my photos where taken are all off. I have overfilled my filing program to the point that they are just rolling over to other files from the beginning. So i.e. an image taken in 2010 is dated 2007. I have an external hard drive and am working on it but that is alot of work. fyi.
