What happens when a language teacher takes a hobby? She becomes engrossed, obsessed and totally immersed. This was how Lunes Bijoux was born. Having spent over a decade teaching in England Kylee Milner was in need of a new challenge – “why not move to France and follow your hobby” she thought – “why not she said!” And so the dream began.
That was almost five years ago and now Kylee has found not only career fulfilment but a personal satisfaction that she thought was never possible. Lunes Bijoux is situated in a small village in the Corbières southern France. From her studio Kylee now specialises in polymer clay and produces a stunning range of jewellery & art objects. In 2006 Kylee was awarded the “Atelier d’Art du Pays Cathare” logo in recognition of her work as a craftsperson.
Kylee’s inspiration is drawn from her surroundings, the vines, the “garrigues”, the heat and intense colours of the Mediterranean and the flavours that represent the Langue d’Oc. Unable to follow a cooking recipe word for word because she always wants to add her own personal touch, Kylee believes her palette of colours and style of jewellery is the same. Kylee believes in designs which have impact, drawing upon the sensuality and the confidence of the wearer…”enfin des creations qui font tourner les têtes!”
In March 2008 - Lunes Bijoux underwent a significant face lift to include a larger work space area for Kylee, improved storage facilities accommodating the polymer oven and machinery and most importantly the creation of a bead shop and craft centre "Corbières Créatives".
Kylee’s professional teaching / consultancy background enables her to run high quality linguistic and jewellery / polymer courses throughout the year both in English & French.
Kylee organised Euro Clay France 2009 with 6 international teachers and 80 participants and she is also responsible for any future events under theClay Corbières Créatives logo in particular March 2010 and beyond!
In 2009 Kylee was appointed International Liaison Officer for the International Polymer Clay Association in America. Kylee is a true ambassador in the polymer clay world!
