I've been the proud owner of a DSLR since December and started taking pictures regularly after joining a picture a day group in January 2008.
I'm still very much at the learning stage; learning what I like , learning what my camera does, learning how to get it to take the pictures I'd like to be able to produce .... its going to be a long journey but one I'm already enjoying very much
Being part of the Medway Towns group and of Medway Eyes is something which makes me very proud to live in this part of the world and know some of the people who, for me, define community.
The past year's been a challenging one health wise, in a manner thats seriously restricted my ability to use a camera...here's to 2010 being much better !!

"No-one is more surprised than me to see how piX has developed as a quality photographer. She has always had a good eye for design and constantly used to point out unusual scenic qualities in clouds, fields and trees. I suppose this would have been the initial egg-caterpillar-cocoon stage in her growth to mature butterfly/photographer. Her design work was initially translated into her embroidery skills, now replaced by her camera. So much easier I hear you say. Don't you believe it is my reply. The skills required to produce the type of images coming from her work are far from easy to master and I'm sure she will argue that there are many better than her, but she won't put up with anything second rate if it has her name attached to it.

"Pix1966…well what to say, we started taking pics at pretty much the same time, but as you can see by her photo stream she’s over taken me with the quality of her work. She has developed a great eye in a very short space of time, with some lovely and interesting composition in her photographs. I hope that she will keep ahead of the curve and continue to produce an ever-increasing quality with her photography in the future.
