Thank you for visiting my photostream , I hope you will find something of interest in my pictures.
My whole approach to photography is really more to portray my moods and thoughts at the time of posting so the pictures I use are really to illustrate thoughts and feelings rather than simply to display any technical expertise. I’m still learning where that is concerned! I use my pictures as a tool to illustrate the things I want to say and more often that not as illustrations for the quotes by others that have some meaning for me.

I love to look at other people's pictures and reading what they have to say because I am as much interested in the person behind the camera as in what they can do with it!

Having discovered just how many groups there are on Flickr, I've seen the most mind blowing photographs, I'm in awe at the abilities and creativity I have seen here! I alternate between being inspired by what I have seen and despairing that my own progress is so slow. But having said that I still enjoy the trial and error of trying to improve my skills.
To my surprise I have found that some of my pictures have been used on other sites without my knowledge. Please don't do this without asking. I have been quite happy to give permission to those who have asked to use them. It's simply good manners to ask first and it is a breach of copyright to do this without consent. Please ask me first.
I have taken the advice of others who block those who add favourites without a photostream and without contacts and a profile. Please don't simply add favourites without a comment because if I don't know you I may block you. Otherwise I am thrilled if anyone adds a picture of mine to their favourites!

Thank you to all who have looked at my pictures and left comments, added them as favourites and left invites. I love to read the personal comments, as much, or more than receiving an award just because I value what you think. Many thanks as well to those who have added me as a contact. Please bear with me if I have not added you straight away - I like to get to know people a bit first. I've tried to keep my list manageable so I can get round to commenting as much as possible and I have added those who do the same. Please don't add me to yours unless you intend to comment.

It’s been a real pleasure to have got to know so many wonderful people here on Flickr and I count them as very real friends.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this!
Marilyn

    Salwan Binni says:

"Marilyn, this genuine human being and prolific photographer is one of the truly wonderful people I’ve met here on flickr. Her estimably rich-in-content personality keeps amazing me whenever I read her inspiring photos and the accompanying thought-provoking commentaries…it is amazing how the enormous amount of pure human love in her heart works harmoniously with her reservoir of wisdom and experience to admirably produce aesthetic, innovative, intellectual and soul-touching works here on flickr and in practical life as well. One example to the latter domain is her concern for faraway homeless kids in Brazil, a simple reflection of her true Christian faith as well…Her aversion to stagnation or inactivity in life ensures she is always in a fresh state of self-update and renewal. Her constant hunger for knowledge and pursuit of a better understanding of life in its colorful dimensions is another story that continuously charges her already shrewd mind the way a dynamo does that I’m always impressed by the clever questions she keeps raising!
I haven’t met Marilyn face to face yet and how I wish to, but I’ve always enjoyed friendship with this highly educated lady whose etiquette in approaching others reminds me of that refined lady I met over and over in English literature… its absolutely an honour to have Marilyn as my friend…God bless..."
