I studied jewellery design, production and textiles at two Art Collages in the UK. I make jewellery, accessories, clothing and costumes and my company is Professor Maelstromme's Steam Laboratory. I am a guest artist for bruteforce where I design and fabricate some pieces.
I am inspired by Gaslight Romance, Gothic, Steampunk, Victoriana and Historic places.
The catacombs at Kensal Green cemetery, London still contain Victorian coffins placed on shelves in arches. Some are sealed behind glass and some are left to the elements. Many of them still have the dried and faded wreathes in glass domes. The highly decorated ancient coffins have decayed into the most amazing colours and influence my palette choice……. faded rotten velvets, rust and patinas. Wonderful colour for costumes and accessories.
