not that it matters ....
but in relative terms I have way too much info here... so if you're bored proceed with caution...

@ I tend to have a curious mind and a critical eye but at times the focus is a bit blurry... (this maybe age related )

@ my viewing habits fluctuate, so please do not be surprised if I do not comment daily or weekly ... my uploading habits also fluctuate but generally I add a dozen photos or so at a time... old and new all mixed up to puzzle the viewer.. :-))

@ I got my first film camera in my early teens but only got more involved with a 35mm SLR in university, while opening my eyes to the built environment... mostly careful-beauty(old Europe) and careless-ugliness (mainly Canada)...

@ for 3 decades or so I also explored Canada's untouched nature & wilderness to better understand and embrace my adopted "native land" ...

@ also drawn to the wonders of architecture, urban design, manipulated landscapes and cityscapes ...
@ some aerial photos from small planes...
@ the magic of children at play or just being & exploring..
@ the unpredictable complexity of human interactions in public & semi-public spaces ... etc...

@ am aware that visual illiteracy is common and seldom recognized as a subject worthy of serious study ...
@ learning to see is fun and can be a lifelong adventure ...
@ I think kids need a camera to explore their surroundings early in life, allowing them to capture their moments and share what matters to them...
@ photography is a wonderful medium that can help create more connections between people ...
@ self exploration with a camera can be a lifelong adventure..

COMMENTS from Aug. 2008.....
@ After 24 months or so, Flickr is still educational, even inspirational and can still surprise ...
but perhaps it is no longer as much fun ... a decade ago I do recall taking a break from photography for about a year or so as I became aware of only seeing the world through the viewfinder .. this cycle may prove to be repetitious...

@ I'm finding that too much predictability, repetition of subject matter gets to be boring ...
but after a few weeks of absence ... I still crave the variety of visual delights in Explore ...
and the cycle keeps repeating...

@ Still the variety of interests is truly amazing... getting a glimpse into private minds and lives is very special, enriching and at times an overwhelming experience....
@ Traveling into exotic landscapes and faraway cultures and cities, seeing such a rich mix of people and their activities is mind expanding... and at times a little bruising... but it all makes my life a little richer !!
@ Friendships flare up, blossom unexpectedly and some flicker & fade away unintentionally ... just like in real life ... :-))

@ At first I was not keen on seeing videos here but then some are really amazing...
the combination of motion and sound really does add an extra dimension to the visual experience...

if you are still reading this ... I am totally amazed but happy you got this far ... :-)))

Keep those cameras clicking, experimenting, evolving ... and many thanks for sharing your impressions / views / experiences / many moods ... at times the Flickr community is simply amazing !!!!
