Perpetually busy, like most!

Brief profile.
Amateur...introduced to film photography by friends in college, and later used it as a tool for documenting cultural landscapes and architecture...now focused more on nature than culture. Its not art; its topographics. I describe my work as “topographic,” which essentially means I seek to show things the way they are, or are presented to me...I try to record what nature composes rather than to compose images. I make no claim to being an artist.

Commenting and contacts.
I have much to learn. Comments and criticism are very welcome, whether polite or brutal (no offense will be taken).

I take the notion of “contact” literally, as one in which there is at least occasional dialogue. If I drop someone from my list it is because they have become absent from this; please take no offense. I retain a few non-commentors for a while, but these too eventually rotate off the list. Flickr offers many ways to see excellence without building an unmanageable contact list. If you just want me to make widgets for you, we probably are not a good fit.

In 1878, Philip Hamerton wrote:
A good way of finding out where we are blind is to encourage many...to criticize our work frankly in our own hearing. They will express opinions in direct contradiction with each other, and cause, perhaps, some degree of confusion in our own; but we shall hear, from time to time, some suggestion that will lead us to fresh observations and discoveries. Anyone who has really studied nature for [them]self is likely to have seen something that no one else has seen. Let us encourage [them] to tell us what that thing is, so that we also may get leave to see it. Every new friend who will tell us what [their] own observations have been may be as good as a new pair of eyes to us.
