My husband and I retired and moved to the west valley near Phoenix in 2005. We are having a good time exploring this beautiful state of Arizona. There are so many places to visit here and the landscape is so diversified.

I love looking at other people's photos from all over the USA and the world. I continue to try to improve my photography skills and am still learning.

I have become more interested in photography since retiring and will forever be an amateur striving to better myself as a photographer. I continue to learn as I go. I use a Sony Alpha 100 DSLR camera and a Canon Rebel Xt1i that I bought in March 2010.

    "I can't remember when I came across Nicki's stream, but when I saw her photo's I was hooked. I love her desert & humming bird photo's. Her part of the country is so beautiful.     "I was trying to recall what picture drew me to Nicki’s photo stream. I am almost certain that it was one of her excellent hummingbird shots. I know she thinks they could be better; but I disagree, they are right up there with some of the best I’ve seen on Flickr. I also love her creativity with her photo enhancements—before I wrote this, I looked back at some of her shots and found many enhanced pics that were really clever and very nicely done. I know how difficult it can be to figure out how to use PS or Elements, so my hat goes off to her. I think she is stubborn like I am and will stick with something until she figures out how to do it!

    I have also met Nicki personally (along with Michele/Lizard Gal) and am so happy that we three made that photo shoot date in Glendale. I am also glad that I can now call both of these sweet ladies friends.

    Spend a little time looking back into Miss Nicki’s photo stream—she was good back then; but like all of us, has evolved into a very talented photographer. My favorites are and always will be her hummer shots—although I would swear that she adds something extra to the feeder to persuade them to pose long enough to get those outstanding images, LOL!"
