NowPublic: Australian school makes sunglasses compulsory




I was born in Finland over 70 years ago, but have also lived in Denmark and Australia, presently in Norway. All these countries have their special features that give you very different photos.

I love photography, even more since I joined flickr, and found all these wonderful photographers. The most wonderful thing is that you can make friends here, though I have only met one Flickerite but I enjoyed that a lot.
Before digital cameras came I had a Minolta and a Pentax.
The first digital camera was Sony DC32 .
In October 2008 I acquired Canon PowerShot A720. It has 8 mp so I can get clearer and sharper photos than with the 3.2 mp Sony.
Lately I have used Nokia 5630d. with its limitations, after the Canon got condensation. I cannot use a lot of money for a camera, but I bought Panasonic DMC FS62, which is good for it's price.
In 2007 I had the chance to visit Australia again and see my son. I took many photos in Sydney but only after I returned I found out how I could have improved on them, especially for sharpness. I wish I could have afforded to travel more in the country, it has a wealth of possibilities for a photographer. I may never have a chance to do that.
I wish I had had the Canon with me in Australia, the videos taken with it are also good and sharp. The videos I took in Australia with the Sony are almost unusable.

I do not know whether I have any special style, I keep to simple rules, I try to train my eye and let the subject teach me. I wish I could travel to places of wonderful beauty or magnificence, Petra comes to mind as an impossible dream. My technical knowledge of cameras is very low, neither can I afford expensive equipment. I do very little afterwards, just use the Adobe Photo Album Starter Edition and basic Picnic.

So often I feel mediocre in most of the things I do. I have no "great!" photos. I would love to have Canon EOS to do more.

If having many photos in Explore means one is a good photographer, then I'm not one. No new ones have appeared there since 2008. ??








I have founded seventeen groups. They are mostly on fairly small area of interest, with no awards or competitions, so I don't get very much traffic. I have worked a lot to get members.
