I am a Island Girl who loves to Run, Bike and Swim. I enjoy working with plants and enjoy everything to do with being outdoors. I love animals and am especially fond of Boxers. I have both cats and dogs. I have been a Lifleong Strick Vegetarian!!! I love and respect all animals and their lives.I want to learn more about Photography and love to take photos of my animals and of the island I live on. I live on a Sanctuary Island dedicated to wildlife and their survival! We have many Turtles and there are strick laws during turtle nesting season. They are watched and ropes are put around their nesting areas where they lay their eggs and cannot be distubed! No live shells can be taken from the Gulf of Mexico. There is a fine for taking them alive and there is also a fine for feeding Allagators which makes them tame to humans thus causing them to not be afraid of humans and having to be destroyed. Please, never do this because they were here long before us! There is so much beauty all around us.
I love running and have run many races this season. Now, I am swimming a lot and biking too. Maybe I will try a triathalon next.
My major love is Boxers. I just lost my little boy, and it's is so hard without him. I loved him so much and he was such a wonderful friend. I loved to photograph him because he was so entertaining and always in some cute pose or doing something funny. I know there are many Boxer lovers out there and I am so happy to see their wonderful photos. It is a highlight of my day to see who posted a new one.
Right now, I am trying to raise more money for Parkinson's Disease.I raised money for the Marathon I ran at the end of January. I am also part of PAN (Parkinson's Action Network) and just recently became a State Congressional Coordinator for my state.I am so happy about this and am looking foward to learning more and helping educate others in my community and all around about what new research is being done. It is a terrible neurological, degenerative, progressive disease with No Cure! I just participated in The Unity Walk in New York City in Central Park. I raised money for Parkinson's and there were over 12,200 people who participated in this walk. This was the biggest turnout to date! Hopefully, soon there will not have to be any more walks because there will be a Cure for Parkinson's Disase. I will continue to work as hard as posible to fundraise for Parkinson's.This year I have met so many wonderful people and learned so much. I am starting a Support Group soon for Young-Onset Parkinson's Disease. This is for people who are 20 to 50 years of age who have developed the disease earlier in their lives. It isn't a disease aquired later in life! When it affects people at ths age, it is in he middle of their lives and at a time when they need to be making a living and supporting their families. Michael J. Fox is a man with Young-Onset Parkinson's and has had it over 16 years. I met him twice in New York at a Dinner that was held at Tiffany's on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The Dinner was by invitation only and for people who raised a certain amount of money for The Fox Foundation. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about his orginization. When I met him he was very kind and gracious. He was nice enough to let my friend and I have a picture taken with him and he also gave me his autograph. The picture is in my flickr pictures. I also met him at the Team Fox Booth at the Unity Walk the next day that was held in Central Park. People just flock to him and want so much to have an opportunity to say something to him.I was fortunate enough to talk to him again the day of The Unity Walk and he remembered me from the night before and said, "did you hve a nice time last night" and I said yes I did. He also listened to what I felt I needed to say, and I think he's able to make others feel like what they are struggling with or are trying to do really matters. He represents Hope to people who have Parkinson's Disease. Everyone needs Hope. He was a speaker at the walk as well as Muhhamad Ali's wife and one of his daughters. It was very moving and uplifting to see so many people with Parkinson's and their families come together and show their Unity to Fight this Disease.
If anyone out their reading this has Parkinson's or Young-Onset Parkinson's and would like to chat please contact me. I have learned so much in the last two years and would love to hear from you and see how things are going for you. I am a person who really cares and would like to help if you are struggling. Thanks and God Bless.
Anyone who would like to help start a fundraiser for Parkinson's or would like to run a race with me to raise money for P.D. (Parkinson's Disease) also please let me know. I can use all the help and support anyone can spare.
Thanks So Much and Hope Everyone out their in flickrland is doing well.

"Could there be a more genuine human being on flickr? ~and how lucky am I to call her my friend! Kristin was one of my first contacts here & quickly we became friends! She is definitely one of the most kind & thoughtful people on flickr, and she has a heart of gold! Her photos are absolutely beautiful & speak to her acute appreciation of the lovely
nature all around her! Her love of all animals, plants, flowers, trees & the ocean are all so beautifully captured & shared with all of us.
She also takes the time to enjoy each one of her contacts photos with careful attention to every detail she admires. *Kristin, you are such an inspiration to me~you remind me to slow down in life and really "breathe it in"!! XO Kelly"16th May, 2009
