I Loves The 'Diff's photostream

Some time writer and journalist and strictly amateur photographer, songwriter, costume maker etc etc

Part of these photos make up what I call Lostunfound, which was intended as a growing photographic collection - an archive if you will - of the faded and tarnished, the used and abused. Here are scenes of decay from the everyday, glimpses of the ever-changing city, its forgotten, abandoned and lost spaces, oddities, treasures, even people and animals - all that I call Lostunfound.

And the reasons for this folly? Well, it's often the details that fascinate me: what's in-between and overlooked. Presented here are snapshots of the unusual and unstoppable processes of weathering and age, which act as reminders of life's impermanence, the inevitability of change.

Because: Patrick Mimran said, art is not where you expect to find it.

Because: with age, mass-produced objects gain an individuality and character of which they were bereft when they left the assembly line.

Because: there's comfort to be found in such objects and lonely spaces.

Because: if I don't record them I'm afraid no-one will. After all, they won't be around forever - indeed many of the things photographed here have already disapeared.

Because: I fear that one day I'll not appreciate these things, that right now make me happy.

Because: some days, we're all lostunfound.
