I work at being awake, aware and alive. It isn't easy. I drop off to sleep a lot at the wheel. That'll wake you up. Or not. I keep a somewhat daily philosophical comment attached to a photograph on Facebook at Jim Dollar Photography. If you want to, check it out.

"God has truly blessed this man with an extraordinary gift which goes far beyond simply taking pretty pictures! His photos are inspired AND inspirational, and certainly among the best I've seen on Flickr, but what sets him apart is his ability to see, not his ability to capture what he's seen. He notices the beauty around him that God created, and cares about the people around him that God has placed in his path. More important than being able to press a button on a camera, is his ability to perceive the world and the people in it in an astute way that doesn't miss much. It is that gift which sets him apart in ALL he does!

When I look at Jim's photos, I remember God. when I think of Jim, I think of what God did for us. What could be an higher expression of spirituality than to inspire that from another person. It's been an honor to have met this man and to try to see the world through his eyes. What a view!"

"As of this writing Jim has 350 images in his photo stream. Each one itself, is a prize to behold. I on the other hand have 1,859 images in my photo stream, and there are only 3 that I would consider being even remotely good enough to be compared to his worst photo. (That is if you can find one of those.)

Jim's love of God, and all of His creations, combined with his skill behind the lens, enable him to create the masterpieces you see in his stream. More than once I have found myself slack jawwed in front of my computer viewing Jim's work. Many times I am so moved by it, that it can only be the Holy Spirit in me. How anyone can view the world through Jim's lens, and say that there is no God, or we are just evolved, can't possibly be looking at the same images as me.

Thank you Jim for sharing the gift of photography that God has blessed you with. Your work truly inspires me."
