mgm photography.'s photostream
|

Follow me on Twitter!!!

The name's Graham. Graham Morrison to be exact. I'm a 20 year old living in the city of Charlotte, NC. I want to become an editorial photographer and work for a magazine one day. My greatest inspiration comes from the world around me. My friends, my surroundings, and my own opinions on what it means to live in the world today. I am always trying to expand my work and try out new things. I love to photograph models as well as people in their natural environments. It is important to me to be one step ahead of the crowd. I don't care about fitting in as much as I care about doing what I think is the right thing, even if I later change my mind on what I think the "right thing" is. You should pay attention to my stream because I plan on going places in life. Mediocrity is the enemy.

"I realized that no one had writen a testimonial for Graham is ages and that is just unacceptable and can just not happen...so here you go Graham!....
I remember when I first discovered you. You amazed me with your pictures from the very begining. They are always so creative and random and like no one else. You are unique and different in the best ways possible.
I loveee that you love Lady GaGa. She is the shit no doubt. I love that you love triangles (sometimes in circles).
I can just see you working for a high fashion magazine or Lady GaGa herself or anything in that general area. (:
OH! How could I not mention your hair, it is so epic and perfect allll the time.
I know for a fact that photography will take you great place. You are such an inspiration and you have so much talent. And there is soooo much more I could say, I could go on and on but I'd rather not write a novel! I cannot wait to see what your next big thing is Graham! :)"28th June, 2010

-He may be 19, but he likes fruit roll ups.
-His hair is epic, and in a majorly cool way.
-We are Dweebs United. :) He also has a stuffed dog named Duke.
-He is easily the nicest hot guy I have ever talked to.
-He says "haha" too much and uses more exclaimation points than necesary; he also makes me smile without knowing it.
-He seems true to himself.
-We WILL meet one day, and when we do, we're going to take wonderful pictures that will blow everyone's minds. :)
-He teaches me names of towns in North Carolina, even if I wont remember them the next day.
-He is obsessed with random things, like zombies and triangles and putting pictures in circles.
-He inspires me, and others, to be better photographers.
-People WILL know his name some day."18th August, 2009

second! he has an awesome north carolina-y accent. who doesn't love cool accents like that?? i mean, come on.

sunshine doll says:
"You're about to read the adventures of Graham Morrison and Sunshine Doll. You will be blown away by our awesome-ness.
You have been warned :)
The day I met Graham Morrison I thought I’d stepped into a cartoon. Everything was bright and colorful; I wouldn’t be surprised to look up and see that the sun was smiling with a cool pair of Woody Allen glasses on. Anyway, I was walking down the street soul-searching—I promise you, it’s a common activity—when I tripped over my shoelace and fell face first onto the concrete. I braced myself for the fall, pushing my hands out in front of me, but I didn’t escape without scraping my knee. The cut stung a bit; I got up and limped. It was exhausting to move (yes, I am a wimp), and I crumpled down in a patch of grass.
I sat, twiddling my thumbs, trying to regain my courage and source of dignity. I heard a noise beside me, looked to my left, and jumped. A goofy looking boy with a swirl of brown hair, and bright dancing eyes looked at me, a wide, hitched smile on his face. His teeth were stunningly white, but in a true, real way, not like the Crest models’. His skin was flawless; his emotions was real. He wore a striped t-shirt and shorts, and he looked at me and said, “Do you want an Otter Pop?”
It’s really common knowledge that Otter Pops are delicious, so I had no choice but to say yes, and I limped off after him. He noticed, and pulled a band-aid out of his pocket. I put it on, and we continued.
He danced ahead of me, spirits high, his laugh rumbling.
“What’s your name?” I asked him.
“Graham Morrison.”
He spoke without a challenging note; he was simple, he was confident, he was Graham Morrison.
We went to the nearest grocery store, where he opened a box of Otter Pops and took out two. He asked to pay for them, and the middle-aged cashier looked at him in surprise. “Sir, we’re not allowed to sell just these two. You need to buy the whole box.”
“Why?” he wanted to know.
“Because we sell them like that.”
“Well there’s no need in taking more than I need,” Graham said, handing the cashier a twenty for the two Popsicles. He left the cashier, astounded, holding out change. We headed out the door. He handed me the pink Otter Pop while he ripped open the green one.
“Why did you do that?” I asked him, surprised.
“Do what?”
“Pay that much for these Popsicles that are probably only worth about fifty cents?”
He looked at me seriously then, his face firm. “He’ll buy some ice cream for his kids. Maybe he’ll buy his son a birthday present. Maybe he’ll donate it to charity. You give people the means to do something wonderful and they will.”
“He might just buy some cigarettes,” I countered argumentatively. “He might just buy some beer.”
“Trust in others,” he said simply, his tongue now green from the juice. “Now, let’s go explore the world.”
Soul-searching was different with Graham. That day we ran around sitting in shopping carts, dangled from monkey bars, built Lego Men out of sand on the beach. We made cities out of Playdoh, dressed up like wild things, helped old men cross the street. We rode bikes without holding the handles, drove cars with our knees, and made dream catchers out of an old sweater. We texted messages to random numbers, left inspirational notes on the streets, tagged old buildings with cans of spray paint we found lying in an alley. We carved small animals out of tree bark, tried on clothes in the mall, jumped in the fountain at the food court. We pretended that we were dolls, we dressed up like nerds, we ran away from angry looking scene kids. We played tag with little kids, we made a mud pit in someone’s yard. We became all the stereotypes, we killed all the labels. We made headbands out of paper, painted our faces bright colored streaks. We wrote a fairytale that captured the world. We watched cartoons and reenacted them. We jumped on rides made for little kids, pretended to be mannequins in department stores, made faces at strangers, found faces in places. We went to toy stores and handed out presents to five-year-olds with Nutter Butter crumbs on their faces. We broke a see-saw and spent half an hour fixing it. We took pictures, millions of pictures, savoring the moments. We forgot what society thought and demanded, we became what we wanted and aspired for. We flew to the moon in a rocket and jumped out into space among the stars. We gave free hugs to strangers, we laughed, we smiled.
There were no limits.
We talked. Most importantly we talked.
And as we lay surrounded by tall grass, staring up at the setting sun, he looked at me, his smile still bright, and his eyes still laughing.
Hair was in my face; it hid my eyes. I was afraid I was going to cry.
His eyes studied me. “Why are you sad?”
“It’s over,” I whispered, tears threatening to spill. I avoided his penetrating eyes.
“What is?”
“The day.”
“Nothing’s over unless you let it be.”
"Do you have these days everyday?"
"Yes."
I had no doubt he spoke the truth.
I sighed, pulling up my arms under my chin, tilting my head, and absorbing the grass. The clouds moved, the sky became dark, the stars came out. Wind whistled through the long grass, turning us into dark silhouettes. A small smile crept over my face.
“What do you think the meaning to life is?” I asked him, softly, biting my lip. The mood enveloped me, making me exhausted. I bit my lip wistfully.
“The answer is to live,” he said in his simple, easy way. I couldn't see him at this point, but I was reassured that he was there. The answer slid off his tongue, and everything made sense. “The answer is to live, and today, m’lady, we have. Life is free, love is free. Just learn how to trust.”
And I closed my eyes and forgot my expectations and my reservations. I focused on breathing, focused on the radiating light that built up from within.
