Aaron Brown Photography.

Who is this "Aaron" character?
Multiple Me: Underground Passage: Juyeop
Biography: Aaron Brown is a professional photographer originally from Hammond, Indiana, recently back to The Region after living two years in Ilsan, South Korea (2008-2010). He has photographed musicians and bands from Canada, South Korea, Japan and throughout the US, and he has licensed photographs to major companies such as Humble TV & ESPN as well as others through Getty Images. Aaron has been published in various media both locally and internationally including The Korea Herald, Groove Magazine, 10 Magazine and CBS Channel 2's "Capture My Chicago" book. He now owns and operates Aaron Brown Photography in Crown Point, Indiana, specializing in weddings, environmental portraits, and live events.

Interests: Aaron plays chess and the guitar. He loves portmanteaus and retronyms, time travel, comic books, and Rube Goldberg devices. He also has a penchant for Ketel One vodka and carpeted walls. He has never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show, eaten an endangered animal, played a saxophone to woo a lover, nor lost in a pillow fight. He also hates writing in the third-person, so.. he will now stop.

Passion for Photography: I am a living, breathing, camera (with a beard). What does that mean? I don't like to shave. More importantly, photography is my passion; it's my life! I love taking photos - everything from conceptualizing ideas, to lighting and composition, and on through post-production editing. However, I make sure that my photography represents more than just the technical and artistic processes; I strive to represent the personal connections & relationships I make along the way. I don't take jobs just for the gig. Whenever I'm offered work, it's an opportunity for me to meet new friends and make amazing photographs with them. Annie Leibovitz put it nicely, "When I say I want to photograph someone, what it really means is that I'd like to know them. Anyone I know I photograph." That really sums it up for me.

Does he have any other interests?

First and foremost, photography and filmmaking are my number-one passions. They're what I want to do the rest of my life. In no particular order, here are some other things I like and some random facts about me:

• I like to play chess and the guitar.

• I write a bit in a small black journal where I collect randomness: thoughts, quotes I hear or happen across, haiku (although I don't consider it poetry), and anything I think is worth recording for reflection or inspiration.

• I don't smoke.

• I do drink -- socially.
If you can make a solid Ketel One gimlet, I'll be the best tipper you see all night.

• I have a penchant for Rube Goldberg devices.

• The Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Detroit Red Wings, and Chicago Bulls are my favorite sports teams.

• I truly believe that time travel, superstring theory, and quantum physics are great Sunday afternoon recreational topics of intrigue and activity -- unless one of the above teams are playing.

• I can't live without comic books, super heroes, independent film and music, bad-ass t-shirts, hats, and political / religious discussions.

• I collect vintage Mego World's Greatest Super Heroes action figures from the 1970s.
Seriously. They're wicked cool... you know, for dollies.

Is it cool to contact him?

Definitely! I'd love to shoot with as many people as possible. I'm constantly learning from other people and I'm always glad to share any how-tos I've learned over the years. So please, get a hold of me!

If you add me as a contact or fave my photos on Flickr, make sure you have photos to share or you will get blocked. It's a pretty common practice, so deal with the fact that this is a photo community and "join the gang" so to speak.

All testimonials will be reciprocated as soon as I check out your photostream.

Can I use or buy prints of his photos?

Definitely. I've licensed photos of mine to Getty, Schmap.com, coffee houses, and many websites, but you have to get permission from me, first. Luckily, I'm a pretty nice guy so just shoot me a message with what you want and why, and I'm sure we'll work something out.

Here's my website: Aaron Brown Photography.

You can purchase use-licenses, professional prints, canvases, and many assorted products from me there. It's a work in progress so if you have 2 or 3 cents worth of critique, please send it my way.

Thanks for taking time to check out my photostream and reading through this rambling.
