I am not as much of a flickrite as I used to be. It started as an obsession and began to take over my life. So we had a period of separation shall we say. And in that period I rediscovered film. Oh my goodness, how I love film. I bought an old Rolleiflex and it was love at first click. I've been less good at scanning my negs though so have very little to upload. However, having just bought a 5d mkII for work, I will try to find a place for flickr in my life again.

Pictures are what I do for a living...well, the moving telly sort are. I've never been very good at spelling, so pictures and the visual form are my favourite methods of communicating! I've started printmaking of late as a new visual way of telling stories - mainly about birds...I like birds.

I love photographing people. I am also obsessed by abandoned things, particularly chairs. In fact, they don't even have to be abandoned, I just love chairs.

I did a 365. Then got very bored of my face. But I still take the odd self-portrait, usually as a way of expressing something - sometimes a photo is a useful visual diary.

Anyhow, that's enough words from me. Back to the pictures...

and then the past recedes says:

"Susan is in the heap of those things that Sime has, rather involuntarily/accidentally, introduced me to. The day I saw her first photos, I've noticed a few things...

First of all, one can easily spot Susan's talent of portraying three things: symmetry, herself, and those two together. Also, she's the only photographer that I can stand when I see a sepia-ish toned image....

Not only that, but her self portraits are a great inspiration! As busy as she is, she can still find the time to set up her shots with the smallest details in mind... and keep that up for, literally, years.

All we can hope for is that she continues doing so now that her 365 is finished!"

    the brownhorse says:

"lou's steam has been one that i have followed for a while, she has one of the best style, i just love the way that she makes her shots look like classic paintings.

her use of light, composition and the environment she's in, is fantastic, its such a different style to mine, but thats what i really like about them.

Oh and she has the best ability of anyone i have seen, to climb the inside of a phonebox, before you have even blinked. I'm really looking forward to going out shooting with her and the guys in the future."
