Over 190,000 hits and climbing...

This isn't a description of my self but some unsolicited advice to those who read it: back up your files now! If your computer crashes and your files (read - your photos) aren't backed up, you've lost them forever. Take it from one who's motherboard cooked and has to go buy a new computer. Luckily, I got all my photos back, but now I have seen the light and have invested in an external hard-drive.

The photos: a lot I've taken while out biking. It's really all about being at the right place at the right time and I find that the bike gets me places with the camera that I may not get to otherwise. I find that a camera bag strapped on the handlebars is a critical piece of biking equipment.

The camera: some of the scanned stuff is from my old Pentax SLR. The digitals (I'm on a Canon G12 now) are not SLRs and I don't see me going back to an SLR anytime soon. I see some people lugging around cameras with giant lenses and bags full of equipment, but I've been okay with my little G7 and now G12. Maybe in the future, but there are distinct advantages to using a fairly compact and unobtrusive camera.
