Keith Burgess is a self-taught photographer that learned to shoot photos the old fashioned way: through trial and error. He has found this to be the best way to learn, develop and grow his talent. Keith draws on the inspiration of his emotions for creating photographs. He takes feelings of sadness, love and loss, and mixes them with solitude to create his best work. Keith has the ability to photograph every-day mundane objects, such as an abandoned car or a fallen wooden fence, and turn it into something amazing to look at, something that will captivate you and leave you wondering why it does so.

Keith has been published in several railroad magazines and was the winner of the Center of Railroad Photography and Arts 2007 photo contest. His photographs have been featured at The Great Frame Up Gallery in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and are currently on display at the Railroad Museum in Sacramento, California.

"Keith is a great photographer. His photographs say it all, every single one of them just grabs your attention. Keith is also a great friend. Since I got into this whole photography scene almost two years ago I was pretty much all on my own not knowing much at all. Since I have met Keith last year he has taken me under his wing and has been a HUGE help taking my photography to the next level. He is a guy that if you ask him anything or ask for any help he is right there with an answer or a solution. His style of photography is so unique, to take things that anyone else would pass by and capture it in such a way that it jumps out at you is amazing. I'm glad I know Keith as a photographer and a friend."

"Ok Keith, ..... I don't say this very often, but I'm jealous and wish I had taken EVERY shot on your page. Entertaining, Inspiring, and a pure joy to go through each and every shot. You want technical merit in a picture so you can analyze about photographic theories and methods? It's here. Beautiful shots just to look at and enjoy? Got 'em. Examples of subtle modifications to improve an already great shot, Bingo. To those reading this, take your time and truly discover the beauty and depth of the works here. Everyone from the critic to the average viewer can get something out of each and every shot. Entertaining and enjoyable to the viewer AND the photographer that took them. And although with the passage of time some of us may have forgotten, but isn't that truly what photography is about?"

"This guy inspires me! Keith taken so many wonderful photographs and captured railroad life in his own unique way. I never thought I'd be interested in photos of trains but I find myself constantly rechecking Keith's photostream for new work. Because his shots are wonderful and rich. You can tell that a lot of work goes into capturing every scene exactly as he planned it in his head. Thank you for sharing on Flickr, Keith - I'm never disappointed!"
