Welcome to my [new-ish] digital photography Flickr profile.

With sparkly new Nikon D300 in hand [three summers ago now: Dec 2011], I embarked on a new photographic voyage... I had no real idea where this would take me, or indeed, if time, tide and life would allow me the space to fully explore my renewed passion. And, I dare say, as I explore the medium again it might well result in a somewhat eclectic mix of imagery [even without the benefit of 20-20 hindsight - that was quite prescient! : )].

I hope you [continue to] enjoy the visual journey…

Oh, and if you have an exceptionally low boredom threshold - er, that is, if you want to know more about me than even I do - you'll find my personality leaking out here:

Music is my soul. This is what I am and have been listening to:

LastFM : Wot Gorilla

I now have a blog with occasional profound musings, and quite a lot of drivel:

Wot Through A Lens

And, thanks to only having 140 characters to play with, I'm often seen hilariously practising my editing skills here:

Tumblr

This was my MySpace playground. The Murdochs came along and entirely shat all over the place, and all my lovingly crafted HTML coding has long since been torn asunder by the default profile droid, so it looks like shite. Some of the content is bearable, though. Scroll down! The top is a car crash :

Flickr Group Awards: Don't You Just Love 'Em?

Ummm, let me think... No! Blindly copied and pasted awards/group icons - sometimes coerced by a group's strait jacket policy of membership expectation - with no other comment accompaniment.

What really is the point? Er, you've seen my picture? It moved you to such a minimal extent that you felt it warranted a copy/paste and no more. Er, thanks!

Okay, so all this is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but the bottom line is this...

I really enjoy seeing people's reactions to my images. And I really appreciate those that are moved enough to take the time to actually comment - even when accompanied by small/subtle awards/group icons. But the collection of icons alone seems ultimately pointless.

So, please comment, if you're moved to do so, but don't just whack in an icon and run... unless you're prepared to adopt a mazy run, as I'm now adopting a shoot-on-sight sniper policy! : )

Oh... and please don't get me started on animated/flashing awards!! : P

[Footnote: Of course, if you add them, then you probably haven't read all this waffle, and I can't say I blame you! But please don't be offended if you find it subsequently deleted. [Er, even though you've not read this?] Yeah, I'm a curmudgeonly fussy bugger... But what can you do, eh? ;-)]

"I can give no greater compliment than to say Will has inspired and influenced my work more so than any other photographer. He opened up to me the world of street photography at a time when i was limiting myself by providing me with the ability to see the incredible myriad of photographic opportunity around me.

I find his photos not just a journey through the world but a geniunely moving experiance.
For me, Will is the very essence of street photography and i have no doubt, without his frendship, kindness and ability to help me see the world around me, i would not be half the photographer i am today.

Nige, i am truly humbled for your inspiration, ability and most of all your friendship.

    Jem ;-)"

    swimmingintheether (working overtime) says:

"Intelligent, interesting, and witty, Will is a man full of expressive merriment and jovial spirit. There is a wicked playfulness about him that is quite charming and endearing. He seems to be of that rare breed that takes very little to seriously, and enjoys this ride called life all the more for it. As a person he is well worth taking the time to get to know.

As a photographer he has a keen eye and an uncanny ability to pull you towards some sort of understanding of his subject, which is remarkable to me, as he is primarily a street photographer. He is just as capable with his humorous, 'this is life', shots, as he is with his heartfelt 'every person' shots.

He is a man of humour and vision and perseverance, and I can't help but look forward to seeing more of his work.

As a footnote, if you haven't already taken the time to do so, his blog is definitely worth a looksie, and easily highlights the best parts of this remarkable man's character."
