Hi,
my name is Achim,
I have a bit more than 50 years of experience and I'm an enthusiastic photo amateur.

My favourite subjects are animals in the wild and flowers, travel photography, a bit of architecture and something that I would call "this and that".

I started in 1966 with a "Kodak Instamatic 25",
went to analog SLR with Mamiya ZE-X and Contax 159MM in the mid-80ies and
took a photo break (all equipment was stolen) with some Sony Handycams in the 90ies.
In 2002 I returned to photography and went digital,
first with a Canon Powershot A40 (2003) and
to DSLR with 300D (2004),
Canon 20D (2005)
Canon 5D Mark II in (2009) and
an "always in the pocket" Canon Powershot S95 in 2010.

We live in the center of Frankfurt am Main, Germany and have a small backyard garden (200 sqm) which is the source for most of my flower and macro shots.

But his skill is not just in floral photogrpahy, his animal work is also very impressive. I especially enjoyed his Africa series from his recent trip there.
