I started taking railway photos in the early 1950's with a simple box camera, but when I went to University interest waned and most of the negs were lost. In 1962 I bought my first 35mm camera - a Kodak Retinette 1a. I used this until the mid 1970's when I got my first SLR, a Praktica. Subsequently I have used Canons. I joined a photographic society on retirement and have branched out into pictorial photography as well as railways. Two years ago I went digital and now have a Panasonic DMC-FZ7. When I can afford one I would like a Canon digital SLR. My main interest is steam but I have also photographed many diesel types especially in the 1980's and 1990's.
September 2009 - I have now bought a Canon EOS 450D!
In January this year (2010) I bought a Sony Cybershot DSC-W210 which I can just slip in my pocket. I also upgraded my Canon kit-lens to a Tamron 17-50.
I am most happy for people to view my pictures but they are ALL COPYRIGHTED. Should you wish to use one of my images, please contact me for permission.
