I'm an ex-pat American (originally from Maine) but now live in New Zealand.

I work full-time in web/IT. I'm married to Michael, twenty years together and still counting :) We have two young boys aged 12 and 8.

I have almost no time, but photography is what I do when I can. It makes me happy and keeps me sane in an otherwise crazily busy life.

My cameras (my other babies) are:

- Nikon FM-10
- Canon Powershot G2
- Canon EOS 350D
- Mamiya C330
- Mamiya C220
- Polaroid 600
- Holga 120N
- Canon Ixus 80IS

I've also used various mobile phone cameras, including Blackberry, Titan, iPhone and a Nexus One.

Just love to shoot, really. Want to do more medium format. Absolutely love Polaroid. Need a new digital SLR, but don't think I'll be getting one this year.

"deb is a photographer's photographer - she is consistently original and has an unerring eye for balance and clarity in a cluttered world. when she isn't busy being creative behind the lens, she also finds time to be a generous and supportive member of the flickr community."

"Deb Sidelinger has been and always will be my inspiration. Her work is my benchmark.. She has a natural ability to capture light shade and colour beautifully. Her subject matter familiar but somehow intrigueing and often thought provoking. My only regret is living a planet apart from someone I respect and admire so much.
If I had to distill this testimony down to one word that word would be PASSION. She has it in spades and it shows in her work."

"Deb Sidelinger is the best New Zealand photographer I know, perhaps my favorite in the southern hemisphere.

Her work has S-O-U-L! Her eye for beauty and composition is pure intuition: elegant & organic, yet deliberate. She moves effortlessly from magical landscapes to impromptu portraits to captivating still life’s to architectural abstractions.

In presenting poignant forms and brilliant colors, her eye and her camera collaborate creating something altogether new. She frames her images with the sureness and precision of a diamond cutter and finds emotional value in the most mundane of subjects.

Her gift: the natural eye and unrelenting initiative required of a creative photographer. I look forward to seeing her increasingly beautiful, creative work."

"I have known Deb for several years now - starting with her blog - she posted fabulous photos in there and it is great to see she has expanded to exposing more and more of her creativity via flickr. Deb takes full advantage of the gorgeous scenery around her and goes beyond that showing places and items that explore her creativity and show her ongoing skill development as well. She really does seem to be one of those people that takes the camera EVERYWHERE!"

"Deb Sidelinger really knows how to speak to people. Though we've never met, I got to know Deb first through her written words. Through her blog she shared her ups and downs, her family and occasionally her pictures, which I always enjoyed. Now, while I miss her essays, I must admit that she tells us even more (that whole picture and a thousand words thing, maybe) through her photographs. I look forward every day to seeing what Deb will share with us next - and I am never disappointed. Deb Sidelinger has an eye for a good photograph - and thankfully she shares the results with all of us!"
