Before settling in southern California, I've lived in Louisiana, Alabama, Texas, Massachusetts and Kansas. (Not an army brat - just grew up in the midwest and then wanted to try other states. Plus there was that "going off to college" thing that sends you out traveling a bit.)

Frankly I think you'll learn the most about me by perusing photos of others that I've marked Favorites. Often when I'm researching something online I'll randomly do a few Flickr searches and then find hours have passed while I'm just looking at images. Secretly I don't think this is a bad way to spend my time.

Images people seem to google for:

Easter Island statue at Stonehenge II

If you want to read more about the photo above - I've blogged about it here: Stonehenge II and Easter Island Moai in Hunt, Texas

Metairie Cemetery - Chapman H. Hyams Tomb

And more about that Angel statue here:
Angel of Grief: Chapman H. Hyams Tomb, Metairie Cemetery, New Orleans
I love that particular cemetery.

Somewhat interesting sets/collections in no particular order:

San Diego Model Railroad Museum

San Diego Model Railroad Museum
Shark in the Swimming Pool House
(or that's what I think of it as anyhow)

Skulls and Skeletons Just Catch My Eye

Sculptural Hooha

Day of the Dead

Cemetery Collection

(Really need to digitize my old prints someday, and visit more local spots...)

Calfornia Oceanish

Random Shopping in the Past, and Current Shopping

(In which I take random shots of things in the store that strike me as amusing or unusual or that I want to google later.)

Random textish things:

Can be found pondering circles at Google+ here.

Blog at Cuppa
Which sometimes explains a bit more about the photos. Sometimes. Archives limited thanks to spammers overwhelming the comments at one point, obnoxious weasels that they are.

Warcraft blog: Warcraft and Other Hooha
Because I just had SO many screenshots (hey, it's vaguely like photography) that it seemed I should give in and put them somewhere. And perhaps explain a bit. Go there if you want to know some of the stories behind the screenshots.

If you have no idea who the heck I am and I've added you to my contacts, odds are I like your photography (and the things you've photographed) and/or I'm interested in the camera you're using (and the results you've posted) and/or I'm interested in the places you travel and plan to go there myself. Or you might be posting artwork I find inspirational.

I might also have bumped into you on MetaFilter.
Or on Craftster where I'm Batzilla. (I mostly lurk!)

One of those, take your pick.

The Plague Doctor

Somehow I've managed to start a group called
Plague Doctor
to collect images of/inspired by the plague doctor.
Mostly because I started with one gallery, thinking I'd only find a few photos on Flickr - but was very wrong about that. (And please feel free to add your plague doctor art, if you have any or any photographs!)
You know, this is probably a sign that I really should have tried for a history minor way back when. (Confession: I was an English major, shhhh, don't tell.)

Meanwhile husband posts his photos at PD Photo, where they're all in public domain, free for all to use. He was deeply into cheese photography for a while. Now deeply into local Mexican Food. You have been warned. His Flickr account is here: y6y6y6.

WOLK Flamingo Dust Cloud

Image below is made up of a random 10 "most interesting photos." Definitely not the ones I'd have chosen, but that makes it a bit more interesting I suppose. Hmmm.
