I like exploring and making discoveries of all kinds: new people, things, places and experiences. My approach to the selection of subject matter, the taking of photographs and image making reflects this curiosity and desire to experience other worlds.

I aim to convey the extraordinary in the everyday world around us by photographing things as they exist but making them look slightly abstract or surreal, revealing the world in unusual and unexpected ways.

I find macro photography in particular, is an effective way to achieve this. Getting that close to things draws me in, like ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’, I’m confronted with things that are beyond my experience, visually strange and fascinating.

I hope to get constructive feedback from other Flickr members that will help me to progress and will try to leave interesting and positive comments likewise.
