Ben Kimball's photostream
|

it's all pretty absurd. none of it to be taken too seriously.
"So let that be a lesson to you, to never teach lessons." Come on!
disclaimer: 99% of what I say on my own stream is pure joking around. I try to reduce that number when commenting on others' images, but sometimes it's not 100% clear. When in doubt, please assume I'm 97% kidding. My worst fear is someone thinking I'm being mean when I'm just trying to be humorous!
I often (but not *always*) try to post my images so that there's at least some kind of visual link from one to the next. A shared angle, a line, a curve, a color, a crop, a theme, a shape. Maybe a little bit like an editor deciding where to place a scene cut in a movie. This may diminish over time. I also have a tendency to abuse parentheticals (but I don't care).
If you would like to use any of my images, please ask. Thanks :o)

Katrin Ray says:
"Ben’s photography is bright, thought-provoking, clever, creative and very environmentally friendly! From breathtaking landscapes of North America to the smallest things, his photo-works are always alluring with fresh ideas, search of wisdom, his charisma and humor. Sometimes he writes essays to accompany his pictures and I must say he has a way with word as well! Love reading his essays no less than see his photos. On top of that, through his entire stream we see that he is leading a healthy style of life, he’s sporty, clever, funny, intelligent and all around the best guy! :-)
I wanted to write this testimonial for long time, but frankly waited for good opportunity moment… and here it is – Happy Birthday, dear Ben! May all your dreams come true! Wishing you all the very best, man Ben! Keep creating, searching, hiking and producing these wonderful photos and writings!
Sincerely,
~Katrin~"3rd November, 2009

Peter Brake says:
"Not only does Ben possess the gift of eloquent and articulate communication, but also his sense of humor (notice how I left the Canadian 'u' out of that word) leaves one holding their belly in acute pains brought on by laughter. Quick witted and sharp tongued (well, you have to be in order to appreciate the wise commentary of Arrested Development), Ben also has a tremendous ability to empathize and sympathize with those around him…a sign of a truly special individual.
As for his photographic ability? Well, that just speaks for itself. Check out his photo stream…you will not be disappointed."7th March, 2009

"What can I say about BK?
He lives in a blue state.
He was personally responsible for Obama winning the election.
He runs marathons.
He is a charter member of the polar bear swimming club.
And he takes freakin good pictures (for an American.)

laurie strode says:
"I have known Ben Kimball since 1865( we celebrated the North's victory together over a tub of Moonshine) and I therefore feel most qualified to write a testimonial for him. In short, Ben is a real son of a bitch. Just kidding. He is however, aside from being a really great photographer-I mean seriously Ben when the hell did that happen- the best finger with a razor blade in it drawer EVER! Hands down. So, if you have found yourself impressed with his photos, trust me, you haven't seen anything. He also likes wildflowers- alot and nearly killed me once for alerting three cute girls on a hiking trail to this tidbit.
So, in conclusion, Ben is great and he should be taking pictures for National Geographic. What the hell, Ben? Get on with it!"8th May, 2008

Mark Griffith (Off Grid in Myanmar) says:
"You know Ben deserves a testimonial. So I am writing one, and not just to write one, but because Ben's a nice guy , whimsical with a great photographic eye. Somehow, somewhere in the Flickrverse I wandered across his stream, contact ensued and I've been watching his stream ever since. I look forward to his photo exploits."
