I think photography is a fast art. Point, push the button, and that's all. But fast doesn't mean bad. Despite other arts, where you need long time to shape your creation, taking pictures is more an intuitive act than a process of thinking. This helps to capture the moment naturally.
So, I don't like flash light. I just try to stop the time of a scene without make up, with the natural light or darkness it has. However, sometimes I edit the light levels of my pictures with GIMP, to help over eyes to observe the object of the picture.
